Contents (Click on the section title link to view its content)
It is our aim at Greenbank Bed & Breakfast to ensure that the needs of all the guests are adequately catered for during their stay. The following statements detail our provision of service and should you have any specific questions in relation to the provision, please feel free to contact us and we will endeavour to help. We have also addressed fixtures that assist people with reduced mobility such as grab rails, handrails and lever handle taps.
Greenbank, Bed & Breakfast is a country house offering two en suite ground floor double rooms set in peaceful rural surroundings and catering for both adults and children 12 years and over.
We are located in the centre of Bowerchalke village 50 metres east of the Church and on the north side of Church Street. The frontage is fenced and it has a circular drive with a large Oak tree to the left side of the entrance.
Our web site www.greenbank101.com provides details and photographs of our accommodation, information of our services and contact details. For people travelling by car and using sat/nav, GPS or Internet mapping sites, typing in our postcode SP5 5BE will provide an adequate guide to our location.
Access by Public Transport can be by Train or the National Bus Service to Salisbury then by the Wiltshire Buses Service Number 29 to Bowerchalke. The Bus Stop is right next to Greenbank Bed & Breakfast.
There is no Sunday Service and the service operates between 07.45hrs and 18.30hrs Monday to Saturday.
Accommodation information and Breakfast Menu’s are available in large print by prior arrangement.
At the time of booking we try to establish an estimated time of arrival with our guests so that we are always here to welcome you on your arrival and provide assistance with luggage if required.
We generally try to have accommodation ready for guests to arrive from 16.00hrs onwards with the latest check in time of 21.00hrs unless by prior arrangement.
Off road parking around the circular drive is provided on a tarmac surface with a gentle slope; however the initial slope to the drive from the road is a bit steeper and owners of cars with a low ground clearance need to be aware of this during entry and exit. At night movement activated security lights operate.
From the driveway, the entrance to B&B wing is up a gentle slope at the side of the house to a path under the carport that leads to the accommodation entrance. There are no steps on this route.
During inclement weather guests can use the carport for shelter while loading/unloading their luggage if they so wish.
The approach to the Front Door porch has 3No paved steps, which have a minimum width of 1.2 metres and an overall height of 0.5 metres from the driveway with these steps being leading to a 75mm step into the porch. Please ring the bell on your arrival.
After you have been made welcome you will be shown to the B&B wing entrance, which is at the side of the house. From the main entrance to the B&B wing there is one step down to the carport pathway, which has a depth of 100mm. The B&B wing entrance door has a threshold up stand of 100mm above finished floor level.
Reception / Breakfast Room / Bedroom Corridor
The Breakfast Room is a spacious area being 2.35 metres by 5.35 metres that accommodates the dining area and provides access to the ground floor bedrooms and conservatory. Access to the ground floor bedrooms is via a dogleg corridor (6.25m Long x 1.0m wide). The floors in the Breakfast Room/Bedroom Corridor are tiled throughout with 2No (200mm High x 1.0m Wide) steps leading into the Bedroom Corridor and 2No (200mm High by 900mm Wide) steps leading into the Conservatory with a door threshold up stand of 100mm above the top step. Whilst the elevation of the steps is minimal all have handrails that denote the presence of steps. Unfortunately owing to the dogleg configuration of the steps access to the bedrooms for people in wheelchairs is restrictive as there is inadequate space for fitted ramps. The tiled steps to the Bedroom Corridor have an anti slip surface treatment applied to the top edges. Heating is provided by a Thermapanel Radiator thermostatically controlled.
Furniture in the Breakfast Room consists of a sideboard, a bench seat and a single leaf table that will seat 4 people. The table has a 620mm under clearance with solid armless chairs having a seat width of 450mm. A fridge is also located in the room for storage of cold drinks food and guests medication. An area is also set aside for various guest information leaflets and a visitor’s book.
The Conservatory (3.5m x 3.2m) with its tiled floor doubles as a guest’s lounge and also provides guests with access to the garden. The Conservatory door threshold has an up stand of 100mm above finished floor level. Furniture in the Conservatory consists of a sofa, 4 armchairs, a coffee table and a mini Hi Fi system. A freestanding electric fan is also kept in the area mainly for summer use. Heating is provided by a Thermapanel Radiator thermostatically controlled.
We have a large mature back garden complete with patio that guests are welcome to take advantage of when the weather permits. Apart for the patio there are several seating areas away from there, where one can sit back in garden and take in the relaxed atmosphere. The centre piece of the front garden is an ornamental fishpond, which is situated within the circular driveway with the remainder of the frontage laid out to lawns and flower borders. Both the front and back gardens are on gentle slopes and have access steps at various points, which can be avoided. In the summer, weather permitting breakfast can be served on the patio. The garden ha s been open to the public on four occasions in order to raise money for charity and local good causes.
As both bedrooms are en suite there is no requirement for a public toilet
Greenbank has two bedrooms located on the ground floor, both are carpeted and both have tiled floor en-suite facilities consisting of a shower WC and washbasin with lever handle taps. Tea and Coffee making facilities are provided in both rooms along with remote controlled flat screen colour televisions complete with HD freeview, radio alarm clocks, hair dryers, shaver sockets and emergency torches. Additional pillows and blankets are available on request.
A guest information folder is kept in each bedroom, which contains details of local amenities and the Fire & Emergency Plan. Heating is provided by Thermapanel Radiators thermostatically controlled.
